The short film mainly focuses on a failed romance between two young teens. Due to this being a risky project as the girl in the end turns out to have a girlfriend in the end we didn't want to offended anyone from the LGBTQ+ community. It also has a variety of editing techniques to connote things such as love, heartbreak and conflicting emotions. In the first scene the protagonist is shown talking to himself in the mirror, however the reflection in the mirror is seen to be talking and doing its own actions in turn with the protagonist. This links in with Levi-Strauss's theory of binary opposition mainly because the reflection shows the opposite of the protagonists feelings this being confident and strong where as the protagonist in the real world feels anxious and worried to talk to the girl. By editing it like this it helps the audience understand what is going on through his head and why this scene has been included in the final product. After this scene there is then a jump...

In this screenshot the editing has been changed where it shows the protagonist talking to his reflection. However, the shot in the mirror is doing different actions to what the real version is. This shows how he is arguing with himself. It was filmed as two shots and then the shot in the mirror was masked over the scene of the real version of the protagonist speaking with the audio being linked up. When the protagonist is walking down the street and sees the girl there is then a transition called VR light fade which connotes someone having a dream sequence, when the transition fades the colour of the video turns to a light blue. Throughout the dream sequence the colour keep changing with each scene this is done with light rays and the transition is VR light fade. This is achieved by going to light effects and pressing onto light rays, the way the screen changes colour is by opening the effects panel and then entering th...

This scene meets the generic conventions because it shows different angles on the scene and allows the audience to feel what the atmosphere is like in the location. This helps add to the generic conventions because in real short films I have studied it replicates the conventions of how certain camera shots and lighting can change the view of a shot and change the genre of it through the different camera angles and shot types. This footage shows the male being more dominant through being able to pot one off the pool balls. From there being a dryer lighting on the date scene it shows that there can be a comfortable and warm feeling towards the scene and shows how it could connote the genre of romance. Linking this scene to the repetition and difference it actually repeats what happens in a romance film due to the male being the confident and most dominant between the relationship. This scene shows the generic conventions through it shows the makes reaction to the girl walking...

Purpose The purpose of this short film is to entertain and to show the audience the irony of today's society how you never really know who will end up being part of the LGBTQ+ community and who will not be . This story also shows the saying of ‘don't judge a book by its cover’ for the female stereotypically view of how women are the ones that are obsessed with the idea of finding their true love and the stereotypical view of love at first sight. Form and genr e This short film is going to be between 5 and 10 minutes in length, with its style being social realism , this means that all events and emotion will be genuine and not overexaggerated. This is so that the audience may empathise with the characters easier which will draw them into the plot and the story . Since this is a short film, its narrative will be quite simple as to not confuse the audience, it also allows the story to b...

Settings We will be drowning out noise in the background , motion and what she is doing to convey a natural routine and habits the main reason we would be do this is bec ause it gives a natural feel to this film. S o , the film feels like this the shots where we look at background are to do with significant places or places that are repeated, the mirror street and the table at the jazz café The settings that we will be using in our short film would be the change in the lighting for example there w ill be low er light temperatures to create a warmer connotation and atmosphere to the film, this will further add to the genre of the film. To make to main characters more visible during the short film we will be blurring the background , this will make the viewers focus stay on the main character. The main frame rate we will be using is 30 FPS as this is the best th...
